Sections
I’m adding a new ‘Section’ to the Real Journalism Substack this year. You’ll see it as one of the ‘tabs’ at the top of my website. It’s called Theism. I added the Self Defense and Ménière's Disease Sections in June of 2023.
I spent 40 years in journalism and 15 years in corporate communications, so Substack seemed like a great opportunity to share my experiences with people working in those industries. I began using Substack in January of 2022 and called it Real Journalism. Substack later added ‘Sections’ for the purpose of organizing content “into distinct topic-based ‘sub-newsletters’ within your main publication.” I saw that as a great opportunity to share my interests in Self Defense and Ménière's Disease.
I’ve been thinking about adding a Section about Theism for several months and thought this month would be a good time to start it. It was exactly 54 years ago (January 1971) that I began investigating ‘theism.’ My reason was to disprove it based on a careful investigation and analysis of the evidence for and against believing in God’s existence. I was a ‘strong atheist’ at the time, so I had to put my biases aside and use investigative techniques to work through the evidence.
Five months of careful investigation led me to the conclusion that God does exist. I hope this new Substack Section about Theism will be helpful to people who do not believe in God or people who do but struggle when talking with people who don’t.
I’ve included directions from Substack at the bottom of this newsletter that explain how to subscribe to any or all of the Sections on my website. You can also visit the website whenever you want and click on the Sections that interest you. Please share your comments in Sections just like you do for the main newsletter.
Notes
Substack began ‘Notes’ in April of 2023. I added them to my website the next month. Notes are a quick way of sharing information with subscribers. I often use Notes to share story ideas that journalists could cover the same day (or week), along with ideas for communication specialists. I also use Notes to share my personal thoughts about a variety of subjects that might be helpful to readers. I hope you’ll take advantage of Notes on my Substack website as well.
Thanks for subscribing and reading! If you like what I’m sharing, please tell your friends.
